This a quick tutorial to show you how can you create shell-like surfaces made of planar hexagons, you will learn some useful aspects form Daniel Piker´s Kangaroo Plugin like:
-How to use Kangaroo to optimize geometries to a specific condition(in this case creating planar elements).
-Set Up & Combine different forces together.
-Removing Duplicate lines and points.
For this exercise you will also need to have installed Nathan Miller´s Lunchbox plugin, as I think it has the most convenient and easy tools there are to create honeycomb patterns.
You can watch it at HD 1080p
For those of you who are still not aware we are about to launch a new project called ThinkParametric , were you´ll be able to learn about computational design , and how can you implement this skills into real projects, make sure to visit the site and leave you email address so why can notify you when we go live.
