The “Done” Manifiesto

Yesterday I was wondering on internet and I stumble upon with this and I thought it was definitively worth of share it. The Cult of Done manifesto wirtten by Bre Pettis & Kio Stark ,very simple and very truth specially in the creative work , It helped me remember another important thing about what is more important being effective or being efficient?, apparently they are very similar but actually they are fundamentally different one from another efficiency has to do with the optimization of a certain task while effectiveness has to do with with the degree of achievement to accomplish a goal therefore its more important to be effective than efficient. Why? , its very simple you can be very very efficient in doing a task that isn´t effective to achieve your goal meanwhile you can be inefficient but being effective and doing things that actually get closer to achieve your mission. Long story short stop wondering on details get stuff done , evaluate and iterate that´s how it goes.

The Cult of Done Manifesto

-There are three states of being. Not knowing, action and completion.
-Accept that everything is a draft. It helps to get it done.
-There is no editing stage.
-Pretending you know what you’re doing is almost the same as knowing what you are doing, so just accept that you know what you’re doing even if you don’t and do it.(My favorite one =) )
-Banish procrastination. If you wait more than a week to get an idea done, abandon it(I have severe problems with this one =( )
-The point of being done is not to finish but to get other things done.
-Once you’re done you can throw it away.
-Laugh at perfection. It’s boring and keeps you from being done.
-People without dirty hands are wrong. Doing something makes you right.
-Failure counts as done. So do mistakes.( This one is cool to !!)
-Destruction is a variant of done.
-If you have an idea and publish it on the internet, that counts as a ghost of done.
-Done is the engine of more.
